Q: How has being involved with SIDM influenced your practice or work?

A: Collaboration among diverse communities, including researchers, clinicians, patients, health system stakeholders, and others, has made what we do more impactful. The annual SIDM conferences have accelerated some of these developments.

Q: As you think about SIDM’s 10-year history, is there a particular success or challenge you’d like to highlight?

A: Mark Graber’s foundational and inspiring force that founded SIDM has moved the field forward immeasurably a decade later. His vision of nurturing relationships and welcoming everyone to the “SIDM tent” has been instrumental in growing the field.

Q: Where would you like to see the SIDM community focus its influence and resources in the next five years?

A: Important milestones for SIDM to achieve in the next few years should include research advocacy, learning from and disseminating key research findings, and translating evidence that has been rigorously generated by the research community into improving patient safety.
