Let Your Voice Be Heard in Congress

Wednesday, November 13

Those attending DEM2019 can make an impact on the policy process. Clinicians, patients, and others will join SIDM and fellow DEM2019 attendees on Capitol Hill to speak out on issues important to improving diagnostic safety and quality. Every member of Congress has patients in his or her district who have suffered a missed, delayed, or miscommunicated diagnosis, as well as institutions and clinicians who are working harder than ever to deliver safe care and are eager for tools to support improvement. Nothing is more effective to focusing policy attention and action than Representatives and Senators hearing from their constituents on the issues that are important to them.

Why Participate?

  • Gather insight and skills for developing relationships with members of Congress,
  • Provide context to important policy discussions with your personal and professional experiences, and
  • Represent the priority issues and values of SIDM and the Coalition to Improve Diagnosis to elected officials.
