Coalition Members Respond to COVID-19
Many of our Coalition to Improve Diagnosis members are on the frontlines working diligently to test and diagnose patients during the COVID-19 pandemic. We also have many groups that are developing resources to help keep our health professionals safe or provide valuable information to providers, labs, patients and the public.
In an effort to provide timely and useful information regarding COVID-19, our members have developed a wide range of resources, including toolkits, live chats, webinars, community groups and more.
We wanted to take this opportunity to highlight just some of the terrific work our Coalition members are doing!

Alliance for Academic Internal Medicine
Resources from key stakeholders to aid in confronting the COVID-19 pandemic, as well as a COVID-19 Resource Community for Alliance members to reflect and share advice with peers.
American Academy of Pediatrics
Resources for clinicians including clinical guidance, COVID town hall sessions, a Pediatric Health Minute Series guidance, and COVID-19 webinars for pediatricians.
American Association for Clinical Chemistry
Developed a directory of non-U.S. clinical laboratories that are, or will be, performing SARS-CoV-2 testing. They also created a forum on their private member platform – open to all – to discuss issues specifically about testing for COVID-19, and have created a resource page for all clinical laboratorians.
Association of American Medical Colleges
The COVID-19 Clinical Guidance Repository includes content from academic medical centers (AMCs) as a resource for hospitals and clinicians across the United States.
American Association of Nurse Practitioners
Resources for nurse practitioners, including The Voice of the Nurse Practitioner® discussions to share experiences with COVID-19, a compilation of educational and clinical information regarding the COVID-19 pandemic, and a collection of CDC and WHO resources that are relevant for nurse practitioners.
American College of Emergency Physicians
Resources for emergency physicians include ACEP’s Field Guide to COVID-19 Care in the ED, COVID-19 clinical resources, federal guidance, and webinars presented by experts.
American College of Physicians
Resources for internists include a Physician's Guide + Resources, a COVID-19 Practice Management Toolkit, and a CME program for incorporating telemedicine into your practice.
Centers for Disease Control and Prevention
Resources for labs and healthcare workers about testing and clinical care.
Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services
Clinical and technical guidance for clinicians, healthcare providers, healthcare facilities, laboratories, and for Programs of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE) organizations, as well as telehealth guidance for providers.

A curated list of CDC resources for clinical laboratory professionals to stay up to date.
Council of Medical Specialty Societies
Resources for clinicians include a COVID-19 Healthcare Association & Specialty Society Meeting Tracker, CMSS COVID-19 and clinical registries webinar series, and a curation of CMSS member educational resources.
ECRI Institute
Resources for healthcare providers include webinars, emergency preparedness and infection control guidelines, checklists, and tools; supply chain resources, and guidance for aging care facilities.
Geisinger
Offers access to resources including the coronavirus safety checklist and Geisinger’s Coronavirus Hotline.
Institute for Healthcare Improvement
Resources for healthcare professionals and hospital administrators and leaders include a Hospital Preparedness for a COVID-19 Surge: Assessment Tool, a free weekly IHI Virtual Learning Hour special series to share key learning about effective responses to the COVID-19 pandemic, a free COVID-19 call series, and a COVID-related IHI blog.
National Association of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners
Resources for families and providers include Facebook live streams on topics like transitioning to telehealth and keeping kids healthy at home, as well as other resources on telehealth, PPE, and COVID-19 and the influenza vaccine.
National Association of EMS Physicians
Resources for physicians include sample protocols, a COVID-19 reporting tool, webinars, a virtual town hall and a Lessons Learned podcast.
Pennsylvania Patient Safety Authority
Resources for healthcare workers include a list of guidance documents and recommendations for managing the COVID-19 pandemic.
Primary Care Collaborative
Resources for primary care physicians including surveys to understand effects of the pandemic on primary care and primary care patients and COVID-19 webinars.
Sepsis Alliance
Resources for healthcare providers submitted by healthcare providers who are managing the virus as well as webinars, training to help staff be critical care capable, podcasts, and a Sepsis Alliance Clinical Community for peer discussions.
Society of Hospital Medicine
Resources for hospitalists include various webinars and learning modules on topics like learning strategies for managing hospitalists during a crisis, PPE usage and conservation strategies, and strategies for using telehealth during the COVID-19 pandemic. They also include resources for practice management and telehealth.
UCSF Health
Resources for clinicians on topics including PPE, clinical guidance, and patient education. For patients, resources include a patient hotline for those who are experiencing symptoms of COVID-19.
Advocate Aurora Health
Developed a symptom checker for anyone who thinks they may have been exposed to COVID-19 or are showing symptoms.
