Who Should Attend:  Patients & health care professionals interested in working together to improve diagnosis.

Morning Session     9:00am-Noon   Patients as Partners in the Diagnostic Process

Participants will learn how partnering with providers in the diagnostic process can improve their experience. Participants will gain an understanding of the problem of diagnostic error and learn specific actions they can take to ensure quality diagnosis. The recommendations come from a panel of consumers to determine actions patients can take to improve diagnostic quality as part of the AHRQ-sponsored Using Public Deliberation to Define Patient Roles in Reducing Diagnostic Error.
